ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP: PROTECTING NATURE FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS
The Trust recognizes that the environment is a delicate and interconnected ecosystem, where every action—positive or negative—can have a profound impact. Unfortunately, thoughtless urbanization, rampant deforestation, pollution, and lack of awareness have severely strained India’s natural balance. In response, the Trust has launched and supported a series of environmental awareness and action-based initiatives, with a strong focus on education, community participation, and long-term ecological health.
Our core environmental projects centre around two major areas:
- 1. Tree Plantation and Urban Greening
- 2. Anti-Littering and Yamuna River Cleanup
Tree Plantation: Restoring Urban Ecosystems
India is experiencing rapid and often unchecked urbanisation. With an urban population projected to reach 600 million by 2030 (World Bank), cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Chennai are facing increasing pressure on their environmental resources. Concrete expansion has come at the cost of natural green spaces, resulting in:
- Declining air quality (22 of the world’s 30 most polluted cities are in India, according to a 2023 report by CSE)
- Rising temperatures due to Urban Heat Island (UHI) effects, with metro cities showing a 3–5°C increase over two decades
- Higher incidence of respiratory and cardiovascular illnesses due to poor air and limited green cover
The Trust’s Response: A Green Movement Across India.

The Trust has taken proactive steps to reverse ecological degradation by initiating nationwide tree plantation drives. These efforts include:
- Working with local communities, schools, and volunteers to raise awareness and participation in eco-restoration
- Planting indigenous trees to improve air quality and biodiversity
- Planting native grasses to stabilise soil, promote groundwater recharge, and reduce erosion

These green initiatives serve multiple purposes—mitigating climate change, reducing urban heat islands, filtering pollutants, improving mental wellbeing, and reintroducing ecological balance to heavily urbanised regions.
Anti-Littering & Yamuna Cleanup: Reviving a Sacred River
The Yamuna River, revered as sacred by millions, is in a state of crisis due to extreme pollution levels caused by:
- Untreated sewage
- Industrial effluents
- Agricultural runoff
- Solid waste dumping
- Lack of public hygiene awareness
In Delhi alone, a significant portion of domestic wastewater enters the Yamuna untreated, and widespread littering along its banks continues to choke the river’s natural flow and life systems.
The Trust’s Initiative: A Cleaner Yamuna Begins with Us

In collaboration with local communities and inspired by collective responsibility, the Trust has launched ongoing anti-littering and river cleaning drives in Vrindavan and nearby regions.

These efforts involve:
- Removing plastic, solid waste, and debris from both the Yamuna’s banks and its waters
- Organizing awareness campaigns to educate locals and pilgrims on the importance of keeping the river clean
- Supporting government and NGO initiatives through on-ground volunteer mobilization- The Trust has purchased a garbage Truck for NGO Friend of Vrindavan in order to help facilitate removal of waste.
The goal is not only to restore the ecological health of the Yamuna but also to reignite a sense of personal and cultural responsibility toward protecting our sacred natural resources.
